MRI Thoasic Back

I recently had an MRI on my thorasic back for unexplained pain, the doctor said the results were normal. I'm beginning to suspect MS due to many issues I've had for about 15 years . If my MRI was normal should that ease my mind?

At what strength was the MRI done?  

An MRI to check for MS disease activity is done under MS protocol.  The slices are thinner, and gadolinium contrast is administered after the first set of scans to check for active lesions.  

What I would do is talk to your doctor about your suspicions, and see if he'll refer you to a neurologist.  The neurologist will be able to examine you and start investigating what's going on.

I have no idea what Strength it was done. My doc suspected disc issues when he ordered it but like I said all normal. I just really started reading on MS recently and wow it sounds alot like my years of struggles. i've seen soo many doctors it will be sad if they have missed this for so long. I will def work on getting to see a Neurologist!

It is typical for MS diagnosis to take a long time, from what I've read.  People have symptoms long before there are conclusive findings on MRI.  

I hope you don't have it.  You didn't elaborate on symptoms, but I would always suggest people check for food allergies because they can be related to a lot of autoimmune diseases.  

(I don't have MS, but I have transcribed a lot of MRI reports).

The doc must not have had MS on the radar since a T-spine was ordered.

Not every problem can be identified via MRI. My thoughts are to talk to the doctor and mention the continuing problem, and go from there. If nothing is offered then ask for a referral to a doc who can help.
