The report basically says that your mom's brain looks pretty normal for someone who is 78.  The ischemic foci come from events that are nothing to worry about - they just indicate a vascular irregularity where the blood supply has been temporarily interupted, which is very common in the elderly from what I know.

Has her doctor explained the results of the MRI?

I hope she heals fast from her surgery.

best,
Lulu.
