Thanks everso Laura, my feeling is my wife & I are entering a social worker World which in many ways (& rightly so), is focused around the children, my condition is secondary.
I'm certain our house will be full of love for any opportunity we are afforded..
Hope things are good your end & thanks again.
Andy
Hi, Andy. It sounds like your caseworker knows nothing about MS or is filled with the stereotypes. Does she recommend you talk with someone with MS about the challenges of parenting or are you looking for information to take back to her?
there is no reason why you can't be a parent - adopted or biological -just because you have MS. You don't talk about your condition but i assume since you are talking about a child, you remain in fairly good shape.
I would call the NMSS line and ask to talk with someone there about parenting - they do a lot of progrms and education materials about being a parent with MS. i would get those and share them with the caseworker, too.
good luck - I bet you will make loving parents and some child will be lucky to be in your home.
