I'm so glad you said that Alex!
What with forgetting words or train of thought at the moment, I did come up real a real 'corker' yesterday to my 15 yr old hormone driven daughter.
Hassling me for when dinner was going to be ready (jokily), I started my sentence with 'you just stop being ...' Only to lose the word I wanted to use and started the sentence again ... Inevitably therefore she got ' you just stop being ... You!!'
At which point I had ' well that's offensive' in a small but shocked voice! DOH!
I did try to explain at dinner with the pair of them (father and daughter) hooting in derision - husbands attempt to get us all to laugh it off worked very well, not sure it will in every instance, early days though.
Was very headachy and flushed last 24 hrs which doc said was ok, paracetamol seemed to knock the edges off, only 2 days left to go so will take them at bedtime, with steroids at lunchtime. Day two had been awake pretty much all night as taken too late in the day not realising *rolls eyes*
Thank you
That does seem like an extraordinarily long time to me. I would ask for clarification.
You can use Benadryl at night to help you sleep. I get nutty from the lack of sleep. We have a rule in our house that no one brings up anything controversial when I am on steroids. It keeps the peace.
Alex
I love your sense of humour Alvin ;-)
I'm glad you got that sorted out as 42 days at 500mg would have caused serious damage to your body.
Take care,
Karry.
ps I'm really sorry about the recent dx...
Thanks Ess for replying
I did get my GP to check and it is 500mg for 5 days which is a lot more standard!
Start after dinner tonight, so should look like a hyper chipmunk by the end of the course by all accounts - something to look forward to then, just call me Alvin!
It's usually 1000 mg for 3 or 5 days, sometimes with an oral taper after that.
I'd definitely get this confirmed. Personally I would not consider taking the dose as prescribed, as it could even be dangerous. Please do check.

Think he means 'for' rather than '4' and for five days of methylpredisilone - seems more standard!
GP sorting for me anyway.
