Time to check in! What's your week look like this 2nd week of October?
Any harvest/fall events? Appointments? More of the same, etc?

I've got a day off today and I'm so happy about that. Made some major strides in the house yesterday so I'm going to bring the week in right by getting out and enjoying today.  the sun is shining and the leaves are turning - this should be a good week!

What you all got going on?

Hi All!

I have had a frustrating week so far...and it is only Tuesday!

It started with a sore throat at the end of last week, which was worse yesterday, and a full-on head cold today. And there is one spot on my jaw that hurts too for some weird reason.

Yesterday the kids had off school for the holiday, so I took the younger 2 and drove DH to work so I could run a couple errands and then take the kids to see Despicable Me at the discount movie theater (which has 75 cent tickets on mondays). I stop at the first store and my bank card is denied. I call the bank, I have money in the account, so I figure their terminal is not working. So, I go to the next store, and again, the card is denied. I give up & come home where my almost 4-year-old tells the kids "Mama's card broke the piggy bank!" LOL

Of course, then the movie is not going to happen. :-(

On the way to pick up DH, I stop at my banks ATM, and the machine keeps my card! Of course, the customer service was closed for the holiday, so I had no clue what was going on!

After trying to call customer service for over 2 hours this morning, I finally find out that someone had rigged up some of the card swipe terminals at the area Aldi's stores to steal your card info, so if you shopped at the store my bank just canceled your card as a precaution. I should get my new card in 7-10 days.

Right now I'm counting down the hours until DH gets home and I can take some cold medicine (I don't like to take anything that might make me drowsy while I'm home alone with the kids). Or I might just have a mini nervous breakdown. Or both. This year has been very stressful. :-(

~Jess

Wednesday - In hospital from 9am -6pm when oral drug strength may or may not be increased or ...placebo(?)
End of week - quieter and husband should be home for a short while.....almost a year since he was called up by the army and I am really missing him being at home.

Happy Birthday Nancy!

My husband and I are doing a week of projects. Today we started cleaning the garden shed. We have no garage. We took everything out. Made two dump runs and went to Lowes and got sturdy shelving. Then we battled putting shelving together. We quit at 4PM.

Tuesday I will be at the State Legislature doing advocacy and meeting with the Man who certifies Service Dogs. I have been asked to serve on a committee for certifying Service Dogs.

Wednesday continue cleaning the garden shed and may be the attic.

Friday riding lesson.

Pet sitting towards the week end.

This is the week we usually go  to the Outer Banks in  North Carolina for vacation, but between my wife's new job and my daughter now a Junior taking high school and college courses we couldn't swing it this year :( In consolation I took every Friday and Mondsay off in October to give myself a month of long weekends.

Also today is the start of my 3 day IV steroid treatment of solu-mederol. Then on Thursday I start 6 days of prednisone. I did the first treatment this morning. With that being said has anyone on here who has had the treatment experience bone pain??? The treatment went well but now hours later I have severe bone pain. It kind of feels like someone hasa knife in the center of my bone and twisting it :( Just wondering

It's going to be a busy week between work, meetings and appointments.

We're live with the new hosted accounting software and learning how to use it to its best advantage. Poor design and takes too much time to upload and download. Also trying to close out the month and get grant reports and other quarterly reports done. With everything going on, including change, I'm finding my productivity is thrown off as I adjust to a different system and having to find new ways to organize.

Emailed a neurosurgeon at Yale on Saturday for an appt. to evaluate my back and saw that he had read it that night.  Specifically chose him from the group due to his interest/experience in both the back and brain, hoping he's informed enough about neuro's at Yale to refer me to a good one for a second opinion on the brain lesions and sx.

Got the call from his office before 9 this morning and have an appt. for next week.

Appt. tomorrow with therapist. MRI on Wednesday of the lumbar spine.

Financial should be ready for Thursday, but doubt it will happen. Also have an Investment Committee meeting that day.

Will also try not to stress out with everything going on, most especially memory problems. Found out today while trying to reconcile an account that I had no recall of a significant  processing error noted on 9/13, which had to entail a lengthy discussion. Today I struggled to figure out why I could not turn the key to off in my car; it was because I still had the car in drive.

Coffee table in the family room finally gave up the ghost this weekend. It was a hand me down from my parents, bought in 1960 for maybe $20. Teak veneer, very classic Scandinavian design and perfect size for the room. Had kept an eye out for a new one, but all were much deeper than what I want for the room. Forced into ordering a new one, which should arrive this week and that will be a project assembling it.

And when the week ends, I will do my usual, which is to get the extra sleep that I need.

Happy Birthday to all of you who have birthdays this week.

Audrey

Better get the boneless bird products for that GF Grill, Rena!  A whole turkey could take a long time! :>D

Today's Nancy's birthday, quiet night at home, after she takes her daughter to the grocery store.

I (FINALLY) finished the church sign as far as it can go until being placed in the ground.  Called to have utilities marked, marked out the post hole locations, and arranged to borrow an auger.  Water and gas are clear, electric doesn't look like it could go anywhere near the place, and we have no cable or phone in the building, so I will probably go ahead and dig tomorrow, even though the official "all-clear' might be as long as Thursday AM.  I have been working on this for months, & can't wait to have it up.  It will be one of the most prominent signs in town.

Also buying materials tomorrow to replace a small section of flat roof above the porch.  Nancy's getting tired of the porch light globe filling up with water.  I really think it gives it a nice look.

Friday, Nancy has the day off.  We're still planning.  Saturday, we're spending the day at a seminar sponsored by her pension plan.  We really think she has to stay in another 5 years, at least, but planning ahead sounded like a good idea.

Medically, holding steady & giving thanks.

Well today is Thanksgiving Day in Canada so it's a holiday.  Hubby has gone shopping and I am too sick to cook any stupid bird...grrrr....but hubby bought a new George Foreman Grill so I will try that tonight I guess.  I go to see my gp on Friday morning and hopefully get some answers to all the tests I have had lately...nervous about that one.  Beautiful fall day here and it's supposed to be gorgeous all week.

Working from home today.  The rest of the week is a question mark.  I have to go for jury duty tomorrow but I expect that I'll be rejected. If so, back to work (from home) Wed - Fri.   I did call my Neuro to start things moving on the followup MRI at the beginning of Nov.  My feet and lower legs have been acting up.  Looks like I also The good news is that Tegretol has the TN down to a very rare dull ache.  No more shocks.  I'm finding that my iPhone 4 is becoming less useful.  My company has a requirements for a complex password to log into the phone, and I'm miss typing it on a pretty regular basis.  Trying to get the right letter with a shaky thumb is pretty frustrating.

Today not much, school work like always.

Tuesday, I have a doctor appointment with my PCP to go over some blood test results. My mom has an appointment for a flu shot, but I am thinking the flu is already going around the house. I am very sick, running fever, body aches, headache. Luis has had a fever since last Tuesday with all the symptoms. Oh and I am suppose to take my cat to the vet to have his pre-neutre visit.

Wednesday-taking my son to the orthopedic doctor for his feet. Not sure what is going on with him.

Thursday and Friday - I will do school work and not do much else. Well depends on how I am feeling. Right now I am not feeling so good so we will see how it plays out.

We are still cleaning up in the basement from a pipe that broke three weeks ago,  thank God we do have insurance,  but its a fight over contents now.

Wednesday just a routine visit to my PCP.

Thursday,  this will be my second PRP injection into my right achilles tendon,
(VERY PAINFUL)  the Dr say if this one doesn't work ,  the bone spur  at the achilles will have to be removed,  it takes about three months to know if it has helped in any way,  if not it looks like  another cast. I will wait to spring if I have to have surgery.

I previously had surgery on L achilles and I'm trying to avoid it on my R achilles.
I have chronic achilles tendinitis in both  achilles now for over three years and was told its not related to MS.

Take everyone,  and have a Healthy Week..

John

(PRP)  they take your own blood, place it a centrifuge, and inject blood back into the affect area, the growth pallets help with new growth and there is no rejection.
