My doc's exam table!

Just wanted to show you how cheap my neurologist seems to be. It's good that he recycles and all, but I (being fat) was a little afraid to climb onto this old desk!!

It's an old desk from maybe the 80's. It's metal with 2 drawers on the left and one smaller drawer at the top for pens and misc. crap.

=) Have a great weekend everyone, stay cool!!

Don't be to worried about the exam table. what is important is if the doctor is any good.

I've had two doctors that had make shift exam table. ok only one was my doctor, the other was my partners doctor.  the one I went to had an old metal desk too. it had drawers on both sides. it was very sturdy and wider then a normal exam table.

being larger then I am now i felt safer on it. my partner was much larger and her doctor had an old wooden desk. she wouldn't have been able to use a regular exam table. Makes me know that some doctors don't have a hang up about weight. most will blame everything wrong with you on your weight.

so maybe you just had the luck to get the wrong exam room.  I'm not as large as I once was but still in the obese category...thats only 50lbs over weight geez. maybe they should change the name to fluffy lol. ok maybe not. anyway I wouldn't mind having another exam table like that. when I must get up on one I hang on for dear life. my balance is bad but worse when my feet don't touch ground.

both those doctors ran only needed tests and could think outside the box. they were very good doctors. I wish I could find one that could think outside the box now. maybe I need to ask the nurse what kind of exam tables they have?

just a thought. then again maybe it's because I am in tn LOL.

I can't stop laughing.   Too funny!!!  Maybe mention somthing next time you are in or bring a medical supply catalog with you to your next visit. You don't have to hand it to him, just leave it on the table when you leave.  :)

When the last two posts mentioned the gynaecologist, it reminded me of the joke about the gynaecologist who was having an affair with his secretary.....  Whilst we are all  in the chuckling mood I will retell it here....

The doctors wife phoned one day while he and his secretary were in a little bit of an 'embrace' and said she was downstairs.........

He said to his secretary.......quick get your knickers off  and jump up on the bed or she will think we are having an affair!

LOL!  Hey, does he have his diplomas out for display?  You might want to check to see if they were hand printed with crayon

Well I thought it was certainly worth the time taking a pic......Hilarious!      I bet it gave a lot of people a good laugh.

My neurologist doesn't have a light box!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  so he holds his films up to the window!   Quite funny really as at the moment I am having trouble with sun and bright lights effecting my eyes so when he put them up to the window I couldn't see a thing.   He has three consult rooms so perhaps I should give him the benefit of the doubt and assume he has one on one of the other rooms.

Good for you for giving us a chuckle!   P

Dennis, LOL, nope not in TN, but Nebraska...close enough though.

It left me a little speechless too Addi. The first time I saw it I didn't even realize it was a desk until about a minute before he came into the room. I was kicking myself for not taking a picture of it. Luckily when I went back a week later I got the same room.

The nurse shut the door and I took about 6 pix w/my camera phone b/c I figured people might not believe me. LOL.

I showed it to some of the docs that I work with and they couldn't believe it either! They though it was such a disgrace seeing as they are the ONLY neurology group in our city. It takes (sometimes) a couple of months to get in to see them and they can't afford a decent exam table!?!

Makes for a good laugh though.

I was pretty nervous climbing my butt up onto that thing!! LOL
