Hello,
Dr Google has brought me to the conclusion that I have MS. I understand that this is not the best doctor to visit. However I was hoping that someone more "in the know" would be able to advise me on whether to push the issue with my actual Doctor, or if I'm perhaps barking up the wrong tree.
Twice in the past month I've had double vision lasting only a couple of minutes. I had an eye exam, all normal. Doctor said perhaps headache-less migraines, or fatigue/stress (I have a 9 week old baby and a 3 year old). I did apparently have a headache-less migraine around 7 years ago which made speech difficult for around 30 minutes (I couldn't get sounds out in the right order).
About a week and a half ago I got a numb, tingling spot on my back just under my right shoulder blade. This has happened on and off at times and I've never paid too much attention.
A couple of days later my right hand (mainly my pinky and ring finger) went numb (pins and needles). In the following days my left hand also became numb in the same way. The numbness slowly spread up to my elbows at times along the outside of my arm. It tends to move back and forth from being worse on the left to worse on the right.
Yesterday I started to feel a slightly tight sensation around the base of my toes on my left foot, and since then my foot, and up to my mid calf has also been experiencing the same pins and needles sensation.
I generally experience very mild tingling in fingers and toes, I've always thought it was "just me", but this spreading tingling is not usual for me.
Can anyone please help me to determine how far to push this? MRI's are expensive, and although I would do it if I needed to, I'd love to know how likely it is that these particular symptoms were caused by MS.
Thank you.
