New here - saying hi

Hello all,

Newly Dx in Nov 2014.  My doctor is starting my on Copazone soon.  Waiting for bloodwork and ShareSolutions.

My symptoms are Nystagmus (dancing eyes), and lost of color saturation and contrast since earlier 2014, through out this year I have strange sensations on different areas of my face.  Not numbnessless, but just feeling tight or different.  I am on Gapapentin for my eye condition.  Not a welcoming results but I am glad that there is nothing else.

Anybody has similar symptoms and how do you cope with it?  I haven't come across with anyone with the same eye condition as I have...  trying to figure out how to work and live life for the many years to come

I have had double vision for almost 50 years. I bounce from one eye to the other. I get a shock sensation sometimes.

Hi there & welcome to the MS Community.

I'm sorry about your recent dx but I guess it's better to know what your dealing with and get on a DMD sooner rather than later.

I have had some issues with my eyes with diploplia or double vision and nystagmus. I have not been able to see things as brightly (not sure of the term used lol) or colours are duller for probably 20 years now.

I have learnt that heat can affect my nystagmus and diploplia so learning if you have heat intolerance (Uhthoff's Phenomenan) can be a helpful tool. If you do have this problem then consider taking warm showers versus hot showers and use cooling aids when you know you are at risk of over heating.

I hope you hear about the Copaxone soon.

Take Care,

Karry.

I had some serious problems with my eyes. No total loss of vision, but flickering light bothered my eyes, and looking through my right eye led to a sense of disorientation. If I was looking down a hallway, I'd get this horror movie effect where the end of the hallway would recede.

I also had the nystagmus and loss of color in one eye. Actually one eye would be super-saturated, while the other one was saw more green.

Fortunately as you heal from your relapse, these symptoms will subside. Now I have a slight saccade in my left eye, and when I'm really tired, my eyes will move around involuntarily - especially if I'm trying to focus on something. The color difference has gone away.

Welcome. In jaan I woke up and was blind in my right eye. Everything was pitch blk. During that time my eye went sort of crossed eye to look at it. Is was very noticeable in pics et. When my eye got as better as it was going to get, the problem fixed itselfm my philosophy is that it went all wonky because it couldn't focus on anything. When I say it looked black I mean it lol. I couldn't see outlines or shapes etc. It is about 60 percent better now but that was scary for sure.
Have a great day and hang in there
