Hi there,
Sorry that you don't know yet, but glad the rheumy recommends a next step.
I strongly suggest bringing someone with you to the appt. Someone who can jot down some notes and one who has good recall, the the ability to not inject opinions. When you are the patient, and you have many symptoms, it's easy to forget what was said, etc. This other person can fill in the blanks for you.
Also, a good Dr. who is not rushing the appt. will ask all the right questions and get a detailed history. Just describe best you can calmly what has, and you will do just fine.
Will the rheumy be willing to write up something on your behalf as to what kind of work-up he or she did? That might be helpful too...
Thanks for coming back - see you around.
I would make a timeline of my syptoms and medical tests that have been done and give it to the neuro in writng for reference Its too hard to remember off the top of your head while under pressure to perform for the doctor.
I would also make a list of the top three or four syptmoms that bother you the most. You neuro isn't going to make it thorugh a lengthy list and you need to prioritize what is important to you.
And whatever you do, don't tell the neuro you have been researching MS on line. That will almost always get you booted into limbo land and not taken seriously.
When do you get to see the neuro?
my best,
Lulu
