Numb toes?

Hello,
I've been struggling for a long time with numerous health problems.   I was tested for MS about a year and a half ago, but had clear MRI and neuro exam.
I was then diagnosed with lyme disease.  I did the treatment and felt somewhat better.  Since then I've had mini flares and saw a Rheum.  He thinks I have Lupus (even though I tested neg).  So I have one dr that says I have lyme disease and another that says I have Lupus.  So I've been treated/treating for both.  Been feeling pretty decent, but starting on Sunday I woke up with numb toes (both feet, however worse on right).  I can feel pressure and slight feeling in them, but they feel like they are asleep or not mine.  It is worse I think in the middle three toes.  It has been constant for the last three days... not better not worse.   I went into my GP today and he did some blood work for vit deficiencies and TSH and some other things.  He really didn't know what was and again said we may have to do another work up for MS...   UGH!    I don't want to do this again!  One thing I brough up to him was on Saturday night I was wearing tall heels for probably close to 8-9 hours straight walking, standing, and dancing.  My feet were hurting me that night and when I woke up the following morning they were numb.  At first I thought it had something to do with wearing heels all night.  But my dr said no that the numbness wouldn't be lasting this long?

For those of you that have MS, what kind of numbness do you get in your feet?  Does this sounds suspiscious or should I not be too concerned?

Thanks!

Sorry but I think wearing as you said "a very high heel" could definately cause the problem.

Thanks Shell!  How are you?  I hope you are doing well :)   I know it seemed like too much of a coincidence to have it happen the follwing morning of wearing those shoes.  They weren't tight at all and they were open toed, so my toes weren't squished.   My dr really disagreed, but I'm still wondering especially since both feet are numb.

I know that lyme can cause numbness, but I've been feeling pretty well as far as all other things go.  Who knows.... Thanks for replying though!

Maybe others can chime in too :)  I def don't like this feeling... I feel like my toes are dead.

Hey there,

Long time, no see. I don't want to disagree w/the doc but those heels could definitely  cause some temporary issues and numbness. This was saturday? I've had a variation of this as well. Not to say this is the cause for certain, but as a fellow heel wearer, I can see where blood flow and restraint for 8-9 hrs comes into play bigtime for the days that follow.

I sure don't know girl. Hope more can chime in for you where lupus and lyme is concerned. Did you thow this up on the lyme forum too for thoughts?

ttys,
Shell

I forgot that my GP also said that Lupus doesn't cause numbness and he doesn't even I have active lyme?

I just don't know...
