I'm a captain for an MS Walk team and just got a mailing about the walk. It included something that I know will be of interest to many of you - the volunteer - get a day at Disney free program.
It appears all of the MS walks are participating in this program - and you don't have to volunteer a full day. Children over the age of 6 can also volunteer. If you are not interested in helping with the MS walk, you could find other volunteer opportunities.
The cost of one day admission to Disney world or land is about $80. This is quite a nice deal and you are doing something nice in return. If you are a family of 4, this would save you over $300 in park admissions.
And despite the program name, from what I see very few of the volunteer requests reallly ask for a full day. Most are a few hour commitment. I see lots of pet shelters/food collections in our area. And I know how many pet lovers we have here - that might be a perfect volunteer match.
The address to find volunteer opportunities in your area is Disneyparks.com or
www.GiveADayGetADisneyDay.com
On this page click on the give a day, get a day link and follow their instructions.
You should hurry to sign up- they are getting close to their one million volunteers cutoff. Once those are gone, the program ends.
