Open to suggestions

You know how much we MS people love heat, we have a pellet stove and I keep telling my husband he's running it too high. Every night I start getting sick from the heat of the stove. You can't control it like a furnace and I can't seem to make him understand. I start to shake, etc. from the heat from the stove and have to actually go outside into the cold just to regain control. Any suggestions on how to handle this short of throwing the stove out the window?

You could try putting some superglue on the pellets so that they become one giant block. :)

I'm like Mary Kay in that I can't stand it to be over about 65 or I'm in a lot of pain due to the heat. I also have a friend that keeps his place super hot so I usually just leave when he gets to to hot for me. The only thing I can really suggest is to maybe move his favorite chair real close to the stove. That way it might get to hot for even him and he will lower the temp of the fire.

Take Care..

I've tried to tell him, but he just doesn't get it. The pellet stove - You just can't regulate the heat like you do with a furnace. It's either too cold or too hot. The way our house is set up, the LR and kitchen is an upside down L (with the stove), and by evening, the kitchen   is so warm, I get sick, while in the morning these rooms and our bedrooms are freezing. I don't even sit in the living room anymore because it's too hot.

I have a woodstove for heat at my house. (I live in Maine)  I don't have MS, but have always hated being hot. My favorite temperature is about 65.  I can only sit farther away from the stove to cool off because the closer you get to the fire, the hotter it is, of course.  If your stove is running so warm as to make even the far away areas of the house too warm you are probably wasting fuel.  If you told him that would it help?  It is healthier for everyone to sleep in cooler temperatures.  Do you have a room in the house where you can shut the door and even open a window?  I keep my bedroom door shut so it get really cool in there at night. I don't know why men can be so dense about some things!
Hope you can get it worked out..
