Something will work out. Things are move slower on this front than I would like. But, I am not freakin' out yet.
Your last post was correct, home IS where the heart is. The bright side is health coverage. Do you have any sort of caseworker or social worker helping out on your behalf, especially since the weather is so brutal in Michigan? I would be making some phone calls and it will probably take a few, and see what assistance is available especially due to your illness. Have you checked with your local MS chapter? Call your county government and ask for numbers to call and see about housing arrangements for you.
I will be thinking of you and your family. Let us know how the search for housing goes. The help is out there, the hard part is finding it.
Thinking of you,
Ren
The old cliche is correct: "home us where the heart is"
Sorry for the hard times Mcbcon. We are not losing our house but will eventually give it up. My husband is not able to care for it. It was built for a young couple with lots of energy. Try to remember it is a "house" not your home. Your home will be where you and your wife land.
Well, I know there are a lot of people living in their cars in California. Here in Michigan it gets too cold to do that. Michigan is has more to help people than other states. But, I know a good number of homeless people here in Michigan anyway. I am hoping we fair better though.
Because we are losing our house, we will have to figure out what to do.
Yes, I have been getting disability payments. But, we have to get out of our house by the end on January.
Glad you have medicare. The medical costs are hard. I can't afford this disease it is depressing.

That ***** !! Its great that you have the health insurance, does that mean you also get a disability check?
There is a lot you can do to keep your home...just start checking things out. Someone may have more suggestions for you.
look at it this way, you could be in California..

Having a mortgage seems very dangerous when you have no employment... it's something I worry about. If I ever lost my job (knock on wood!) I'd be up a creek without a paddle. No health insurance, and with a pre-existing condition I would be unable to get any until 2014.
So I'm really glad that you were able to get Medicaid/care, although the medical debt really is a problem. Maybe you can declare bankruptcy and delay the payment of these bills without hurting your credit record.
It is good news that you have health and presciption coverage through Medicare disibility. So that means that you are approved for dissability payments? I hope something turns up so you don't lose your home.
It sure does stink to become ill, seems we pay and pay into all this and when we need help we can't get it.
I wish you the best of luck.
Take Care,
Paula
