Heartshome,
Thank you.  I are sure there is a good reason for the evening dose. One thing I am excited about is I have read some doctors prescribe a dose of Prednisone for those who have severe side effects from Avonex.

I still have ugly side effects after a year of Avonex. Maybe this will give me some relief!

My doc had me on pred and I also had to take it at night, but I can't remember why. I ended up having to go off it because it raised my blood sugar too much which made me feel terrible. Don't worry, it seems that my response was an unusal one (duh....I always seem to have the "unusual response"...) :)

Hope that it works well for you and that you feel better soon!

Thanks everyone.  My doc is starting me out on 7.5 mgs before bed.

That I have read says to take it before 9 am.  Why do you suppose he is having me take it at night?

I see him the end of June again.

Thanks!

Hi LA, I am on a baby does of predinosone.  Appx 2 weeks ago my GP gave me an injection of solu-medrol.  I didn't expect it to help any but it did.  A couple of days later I started 5 mig daily of prednisone.  I haven't fluffed up yet :)  I was already on my way to being fluffy.  I have noticed my appetite has not increased with the prednisone, but my doc said the fluffyness would come from water retention.  Laxix anyone?

I am only to take it for 30 days, half way through now.  Then off until the symptoms reappear.

I was just on prednisone in varying amounst from 20-60mgs daily for 4 months recently and sure expected to gain, but they said I had to take it to get rid of stubborn bronchitis. I'm one of those who usually gains just looking at something. For some reason I did not here. I ended up exactly the SAME! I did sweat a lot taking the steroids and I have not felt like eating whereas most people say they feel like eating more. Not sure what is involved, but I know *I* had a long long long haul that may have been mishandled by my doctor---never again that long! Good luck-I hope it is smooth. Jane

I think this will serve you well, LA.

I got lots of hunger pangs on prednisone.  Even right after I ate, but since it's a low dose and if you are able to ignore them (I worked hard on doing that...lol) you'll should be fine.

What dose did they start you at?

I hope the steroids helps you LA, you've been needing a break!

My cousin is on it for lupus.  Whe has gotten a little fluffier, but she says that someof it is emotional eating.  Let us know how it works!
