Shoot, lost my post...........
Same as Stephanie described for me. It's that feeling of fullness, pressure and/or squeezing IN the chest (not around it) that can last for minutes or hours. I also described the breathing thing as air hunger. Not really short of breath, just like a deep breath didn't get me the extra air I felt I needed - or maybe that it couldn't be deep enough.
It happened when my heart rate was low and/or irregular. It has stopped since I was put on a beta blocker. I'd like to trial off of that again in a couple of months. The cardiologist didn't have any explanation even after a slew of tests. I speculated about an autonomic response connected to the MS but can't get the docs to make much of a committment (especially since their miracle pill worked so well).
These aren't symptoms that can be ignored for any amount of time Jess. Please make it a priority to find out what's happening. This is also how people say they feel when having coronary artery spasms. You're young but have had a long line-up of symptoms and you get me worried from time to time. Good thing you have your chest thumping silver back to support you.

This kind of sounds like a part of the MS Hug to me. When I get it, I feel short of breath and I cannot take a full breath.
Someone here on the forum had suggested placing pressure with your hand on your abdomen (diaphragm) with some pressure would help. I have tried this and it does work for me, as well.

I get this frequently, and especially when I am highly fatigued. When I crash in the chair with extreme fatigue, the palpitations go crazy. Many times it feels like my heart is racing, and when I check my pulse, it might only be like 68. It's really weird. I do also get episodes of tachycardia, but this only happens maybe a couple of times a month. I've been through the whole event monitor/stress test thing, and guess I just have to live with it. It can be so frightening though when it's happening. With the fatigue, I also get a feeling of shortness of breath. I try to pace myself so I don't get to fatigued, but depending on whats going on on a particular day, it's so hard to do.
Thanks Stephanie!
I see my neuro tomorrow so I will mention it to him and see if he can point me in the right direction on who to see. It's happening a lot more this morning. Still no pain and I cannot feel my heartbeat at all, so it's still not a racing heart. But, it almost feels like one of my younger kids is sitting on my upper chest/ lower throat. Just a feeling of pressure but no pain. So weird.

Yes. I get it periodically. I think it's a "skipped beat" (which is probably not really a skip, but a slightly "off" beat--I'm sure Quix could explain it better). I've had a 24 hour Holter and mine is nothing to worry about, but it's often something that should be checked out. Mention it to your dr.
It is uncomfortable, though. I hate it when it happens (just occurred for me about 15 minutes ago and I still feel slightly off.)
