I called the MS nurse at shared solutions and apparently even after a year Copaxone can cause this so I was to call MS clinic as that is the prescribing doctor. I am waiting for a callback. It seems weird to me that while taking 2 different allergy pills I'd even get an allergic itch, but I'll see what he says.
I too suffer at times with itching intense enough to drive me batty. I've scratched myself raw a few times. My skin is very sensitive in the best of times, and over my adult life I've had many mystery rashes. Stopped seeing derms for this, since they didn't do anything but say 'Hmm.'
Some of this has definitely been related to MS, some not. I wish I had words of wisdom but I don't. Still, here's another voice telling you you're not alone.

Just wanted to voice support and commiseration. I occasionally get intense itching, and all I can think of is 'seriously, they could just interrogate spies with the threat of itching like this. They'd spill everything!' Oh my god, it's so bad. Alex and JJ have given you good food for thought. And you seem to have a plan in place with ringing your doctor about the Lyrica. I hope it stops for you soon!
I often think our house should be named allergy's-R-us, my kids are worse than I but we all seem to react to the more unusual.....
I actually think it sounds more allergy related, than the odd patchy itch MS would typically cause. It's possible your reacting to the Copaxone but something you may not have 'considered', is actually the coating on any of the tablets you may be taking.
DD can't take something as simple as a panadol, without reacting to it with itching all over her body that drives her mental. Until we worked out her reaction was from the coating on the pain killers she was taking for her wisdom teeth, it went on daily for weeks and kept getting worse as it built up in her system. DS has the same reaction to anything with a preservative, colouring or flavouring though he goes off the wall hyperactive too.
Thought it worth mentioning in case you hadn't considered it before :D
Cheers.........JJ
Thanks for mentioning Lyrica. I still have a couple boxes of samples my neurologist gave me after I reacted to gabapentin last year. They are still good. I'll call her tomorrow and see if I can start taking them again. The numbness and shocks I could ignore so stopped taking it, this itch, not so much
Your GP might be able to give you something for nerve pain. Itching is the same thing. I would make sure it is not a strange symptom of copaxone.

It is neurological. You might want to tell your neurologist. You can get on Lyrica or something. I feel like I have fiberglass insulation between certain fingers every so often.
