MS usually starts with something called optic neuritis. If your neurological tests are normal it is not a neurological problem so it would not be MS. There are many MS mimics such as vitamin deficiencies.

Hi and welcome,
You probably understand on some level that your 'symptoms' are being created by your severe health anxiety, and you seem to be acknowledging that currently your health anxiety has spun out of control and has taken over your thoughts......you are in the middle of a mental health crisis and it is 'seriously' in your best interest to speak to your GP about your current mental health situation as soon as you possibly can!
You might not be aware but when you are within a health anxiety 'cycle', your anxiety, fears, symptoms, thoughts, need for reassurance, online behaviours, self checking behaviours, hyper focused thoughts, feelings of helplessness etc etc will continue to escalate without appropriate mental health intervention, please speak to your doctor about your mental health issues and change your tomorrows!
In the mean time, what you can do is keep your self physically and mentally distracted, actively change your anxiety feeding behaviours eg get off line so you stop looking up MS and adding to your fears, stop talking about your symptoms and discussing your fears about MS and adding to your fears etc
Best wishes.......JJ
PS what you describe is completely inconsistent with a neurological condition like MS and more consistent and more likely related to your severe health anxiety
Hi Caileyb,
There are some great medically knowledgeable people on this forum and all have hearts of gold. You can be sure they will tell you the truth and with empathy too.
Now I'm no expert I'll say that straight off, if all your tests/assessments are coming back normal that's a good sign and you should take some comfort in that.
You mentioned anxiety and numbness, but the symptoms you describe don't sound much like MS to me - again a good sign! Anxiety less so, as that can cause you all sorts of problems if you don't pay it attention and get help for it.
If I were in your shoes, I would find someone able to help with your anxiety first off, a friendly GP perhaps who might recommend someone/something to help you learn better coping mechanisms etc.
You can be certain, any other medical issues will still be analysed and looked into at the same time, I really don't expect them to suggest MS is one of their top candidates though.
I'm sure others will answer you, we are spread all around the world so it can take time getting the clock to catch up with where you are!
Take a deep breath and try to relax - easier said than done I know.
