Thanks everyone.
I had blacked out in July of this year (around 11:30 AM), which made him order an EEG. That EEG came back borderline. That led him to order a sleep study which included all the seizure leads.
Thats when it came back that I had 5 seizures. He then got me in with a cardiologist...who had me wear a holter monitor for 24 hrs. That came back normal.
I think he was trying to rule out the heart before he dx some sort of seizure problem -or- maybe it was also to help find a reason for the seizures. We'll see! =)
As of now I'm still in limboland and thinking I'll probably be here for awhile. It's been an exhausting year to say the least...I know I'm in good company here!
I'm currently taking Gabapentin, ordered by my PCP for TN...it is a win/win!!! =) I too have many drug allergies, so happy I'm not allergic to this one!
Thanks again!
When I was dx with simple partial seizures I thought for sure I was going to lose my license, but luckily he didn't report it to the DMV because I do not lose consciousness.
Good luck tomorrow.
Pamela
Do you have seizures during the day? I am dx with MS as well as simple and complex partial seizures.
If you have never loss or had altered consciousness....you will more than likely not lose your license. My neuro does not report seizures to the DMV. It is not required in my state. However, I believe that you are allowed to drive in most states with simple partial seizures. Your neuro may just start you on an antiseizure med......I was allergic to four different ones, but currrently I am on Neurontin (which is an antiseizure med) it also helps with nerve pain, so a win/win for me. So far so good..
I wish you luck at your appointment....are you dx with MS too?
Hi ,
I have no experience with seizures with but I wanted to send you good luck wishes that you can retain your license since your seizures were while you were sleeping and hopefully, you don't sleep while you're driving, lol.
