Classic for MS. I've had it in various places in my feet which felt like they were on fire. I've also had a terrible time of it in my face--trigeminal neuralgia.

I can't find that page, can you post a link please ?
Hi, Kurt, and Welcome!
That burning sensation was one of my very first symptoms over 20 years ago, that would come on whenever I got the flu or other virus. Sometimes it was my right thigh, sometimes my right forearm or right upper arm. I still get it often, and it's like so many other paresthesias - it can be really annoying!
Check out the Health Page with the title that includes "Things that go Buzz in the Night". Heck, check them all out while you're there - there's a wealth of information therin.
Yes, I have MS.
Keep in touch and let us know how things go for you.
Thanks Rena, since we re both in the Edmonton area, i am going to keep in touch with you, and ask for your advice :)
This is something fairly new to me...maybe I have had it for about 6-7 months and it seems to be getting worse and moving all around. I have it in my right foot, around that little bone that sticks out of your ankle on the outside...nasty! I have been getting little spots here and there and when it happens I just curse and wish it away but that doesn't help the pain even if it does help my head...tee hee. Seriously though, it is not a nice pain and I don't wish it on my worst enemy (if I have one...tee he). The pain is not consistent thank gawd! It comes and goes and it is getting a little embarrasing when in public when it hits and I cry out in pain. I can't help it though because it hurts like he**!! I am going to make up a t shirt that says, "MS...It's Not For Wimps" cause it certainly is NOT for wimps. This pain and the trigeminal neuralgia pain are very similar and I am lucky enough that I get both...NOT!
I hope this answers your questions...if you need to talk or need some advice, please feel free to ask!
Hugs,
Rena
Yes, I have it almost all the time. My neuro started me on Vimpat, it helps tremendously, without it I think I would have cut my arm off. Before Vimpat it was like a 20 now its a 3/4.
thanks for your input Rena705. I hope your pain improves!
how long have you dealt with this? is it consistent?
Hey there...my name is Rena and I don't believe we have met!
I have a LOT of pain somewhat similar to that and my neuro has diagnosed it as Neuropathic Pain. For me it is horribly painful and it feels as though I am being branded. The worst is the outside edge of my left foot and it feels as though someone is holding a red hot branding iron on my foot and there is really nothing I can do. I hope you don't end up with pain this severe...it really is not good and all my neuro could suggest for it was accupuncture. Unfortunately, all the places I called said that although they have tried accupuncture it doesn't seem to help with this sort of pain.
I hope this pain doesn't spread for you...it just is nasty!
Hugs,
Rena
hope that he feels better and he doesn't even gave ms.
My son gets these areas and the time they last varies. We are undiagnosed but highly suggestive MS. It is painful he says.
ps: yes, in my case it is due to MS.
Yes, I have this sensation 24/7 from the fingers of my left hand up to the elbow. It's been that way continuously since 2008 and recently started creeping into my right arm. I swear it will literally drive me insane one day.
Was this due to ms? I am reading that fibromyalgia can cause such symtom?
I have had my right thigh feeling like that for several years.
