Subarachnoid Cysts - Normal?!!!

Hi everyone :)  TGIF for sure for me, lol

I just got a copy of my T & L spine MRI from earlier this week. Bottom line or as they say impression normal scan of both T & L spine. Great news right? Umm, No! I am confused by this for 2 reasons so if anyone can answer either I would appreciate it!

1st thing I thought was well where did the 2 disc buldges at L4&L5 that I have had for years go? How about the Large lesion at T7 that has also been there for years? Did I receive a mini miracle and they went bye bye?

2nd I read through the report and it says multiple small subarachnoid cysts are recognized dorsal to the spinal cord in the T spine. These are of no pathological significance. What the heck does that mean? I never had these cysts before so why do I have them now?

I am not feeling very confident with this report. Am I making something out of nothing or turning nothing in to something, lol?! They also say one of my complaints is radiating pain in the right ribs - NOT. I said left ribs and even said that it goes in to my chest like a heart attack. How do they get right side from that?

I'm not that smart anymore but even I know that your heart is on the left. Just pretend you are saying the pledge here in the USA and you will always know which side your heart is on. My Goodness!

Help understanding please or suggestions on what to do? Just ignore this?

Have a great weekend and thanks for reading
Hugs,
Erin :)

Thanks for the quick answer. Well I guess this could be good news :) I was probably making nothing in to something after all, lol.

I read your post and see how frustrating your MRI results were. I went through a year of being dx with epilepsy and taking meds, giving up driving etc. and then the Cleveland Clinic took the dx away. I was so happy not to have it but ticked off having been on meds that I didn't need for a year and begging rides to work etc. I still get angry when I look back - idiots!

My regular doctor has already called me to say that there was nothing in the MRI that would make him send me to a neurosurgeon so hang in there and be strong. He is sending it to my neuro so if they don't call me I guess all is well ( or at least that part of my body is, lol)

Good luck with your results and keep me posted
Hugs,
Erin :)

Umm....hi.....I too had bulging/prolapsed discs in the lumbar region (L4-5 and S1) for dokey's years and they are now not there. I think maybe everythig kind of realigns itself and you're ok again maybe. Either way, that is GOOD. In old-fashioned terms, disc prolapse/bulge was a "slipped disc" and is generally ok after a time....

I just asked about lesions coming and going in another thread about my MRI. they CAn go away after a time, if the area heals. So that is good as well.

Subarachnoid cysts sounds like a spider! LOL. Umm  wiki says SMALL ones may have no symptoms....

I guess you could do what I'm doing while waiting to see the neuro for an explanation, and that is, don't hyperfocus on it - there doesn't appear to be anything lethal there, most of that is good news not bad. Obviously ignoring something that is bothering you enough to post a thread on here is not going to happen.

Hope you're ok.
