TWITCHING!!!

My right thumb has been twitching on and off for the last couple of months now.  There is no pain when it happens and it will happen any time of the day and twitch uncontrolably for anywhere from 10 minutes to over an hour.  It seems to be twitching inbetween my thumb and index finger in that groove and on the inside of my thumb.  What could be causing this?

Welcome to our group.

I'm not a doctor, and can't say what is causing the twitch, but it doesn't sound like MS. Initial symptoms of MS tend to be a bit more dramatic.

Hi there,

I'm not sure if you intended for your question to post in the MS community but what you are describing is actually becoming a very common 'modern day' occurrence due to things like texting, gaming etc. It 'could be' an indication of carpal tunnel but without pain, tingling, numbness etc it's more often just from habitual over usage, irritation of the nerve etc

This article explains hands.......

I would suggest you consider, if there is a potential habitual behaviour you do, that could be causing the issue, and if there is to try altering hand/arm positioning, minimise usage etc and if the issue still persists or worsens, to consult medical advice.

Cheers..........JJ
