That was a fun way to start the week.

We were called off work today because of the extreme cold - it is now -10 and still dropping.  Can you say brrrrr. And we won't be going in tomorrow either, when the windchill is supposed to hit something ridiculous like -45.

So what did I do today with my day off?  Got in the car and made the 90 minute drive for my 24th Tysabri infusion - the clinic was pretty quiet because a lot of people had the good sense to cancel and stay home.  I had enough gear in the car in case I encountered a problem that you would have thought I was heading out on an expedition to the Arctic Circle.

Oh yeah, I also worked remote from home coordinating job interviews that were handled via Skype - ended up working almost 7 hours.

Fortunately the rest of the week looks pretty quiet and calm, once this Arctic Vortex lifts off of us.

What are you doing this week?  It's time to roundup some details to share.
best to all, Laura

Well tomorrow I have my first appointment with my PC after the MI in Dec. Not looking forward to that at all since she will probably read me the riot act for still smoking. But at least I can shut her down somewhat as I am doing stop smoking sessions in Murfreesboro and am scheduled for my first acupuncture session on the 29th.

Did have some excitement on Monday as when I got up I went to take a shower and there was almost no water. Panicked that maybe my pipes had frozen as it was down to below 0 that night.  It was just the filter for the shower had become clogged but it still took a lot of work taking apart the shower water valve to clear the clog.

I also managed to hurt my right shoulder on Sunday. All that I did was stretch when I woke up that morning and heard a loud pop and a lot of pain as I was stretching.  It is slowly getting better as I have been pampering that arm all week. I suspect that I managed to pop the shoulder out and then back into the socket. Haven't decided if I should bring this up with my PC tomorrow or not. I already have a list a mile long for her as it is.

I had an interesting Monday, drove up (260 miles) to get Diesel and now will have my Tysabri infusion  on Friday of this week.  I got off track because I did my December one in Tennessee, so just now got the paperwork all lined up and made my appt this morning!  I am working on repairing a quilt I made for my youngest son 30 yrs ago, it will be the last repair, that fabric is quite old.  But if he gets another 30, that's fine with me.  It was one of the first I did and oh, can I see the errors!

Everyone have a good week, and be safe wherever you are

I HATE the cold. I wish it would go bye-bye. I guess I would have to move because winter is always winter here in CO. :-(

Well, L, you already know about my fun ride in an ambulance on Mon when I thought I was going to have a heart attack or something happen to me.

Yesterday was my 6 mos mammo & ultrasound - keeping a tight eye on me.

Today & Fri is physical therapy for my hip & leg.

Tomorrow is PTSD counseling.

Sat we're all meeting up for my partner's mom's b-day lunch. Her b-day was Christmas Day, but she's been sick.

Cold is way down south too. Not as bad but sure reminding me of Michigan.

Have appointment Wednesday at Vanderbilt Neurology clinic. Hopes are for answers but after all this time I'm doubtful.

My thoughts are with you Alex

Just had to pop in and say hi Laura. Stormed in here. All roads are closed due to high winds and poor visibility. Temps are about -20 and dropping with the winds gusting up to 40mph. No work for me today!!!  Drove through truck hood high drifts in the lane the last 2 days and no roads plowed so drove through 2 foot drifts on the road. Not today, some drifts are now almost 8 feet high!! Temps are to feel about -40 tonight. Just love Canadian winters!!

Alex, hope the blisters don't get too bad again. Been thinking of you and sending all the healing energy to you that I can muster.

I'm letting deebs take all honors here, though they're pretty dubious to me!

It's zero here, and probably won't make it to 15 later today. In my area the typical winter highs are in the low 40s.

If deebs wants to live next door to Santa, more power to her. I'll take 'lightweight'!

I can't compete with -10. It's a balmy 5 here this morning.

We are dealing with extreme cold here as well. Yesterday morning it was a whopping -2 with wind chill of negative something or another. A record setter. I can honestly say that my skin has never felt such cold. :)

Best Wishes for a Happy New Year to all!

Never in all my life, lived entirely in Canada, have I ever gotten a day off work or school because it was "too cold."  Snow days, occasionally, but too cold, never, not even when windchill felt like minus 50.

We got a word for you Yankee types and, yes, it is "Lightweight."

lol

Sorry Lu, I couldn't resist!
