Thoughts on leg issue?

Hi all...

Sorry...Haven't been by for a while but need your thoughts...

Quick hx: dx RRMS. 4/02. Brain, C and T lesions. Significant spinal lesion load. Failed CRABs, Gilenya and Tecfidera. Current DMD is Rituxin.

Had my first MRI IN 2 years with no new or enhancing lesions in December.   Which should be good news, right?  Only I started having significant trouble walking in November.

My conundrum?  It's some I shouldn't struggle with after having ms for so long but here it is: my right leg goes from really really really bad (like it won't move at all when I try to walk) to it just "feels" slightly weak and on some days it's not hardly an issue at all. But here's the thing....  Sometimes it does ALL of those things in a single day.   And I never know what's going to happen when I walk ...until I try to move.

And I'm scared, angry, frustrated and just CONFUZZLED about it.

I had my first MS "fall" in December and several near misses since then.

At 41, I think a dx of SPMS is in my nearer than I would like future.

Anyway, thoughts on the "it all happens in a single day" leg issues?

I don't think it's fatigue. It happens out of the blue. One time I'll stand up fine. The next time I'll stand up and almost fall. Another time I'll stand up, start to walk and my leg about gives out on me or I'll walk with a limp.   I'll stumble, toes will catch (on both sides), almost fall when going around corners...

If it was just one consistent thing then I think I would handle it better.

Does anyone have symptoms like this or does this sound familiar/similar?

Thank you for your thoughts!

MS has seizure like occurances that are not actual seizures.

Hi Alex:  Ampyra is a no-go for me right now. It has risk of seizure associated with it and I've had seizure-like incidents so the doctor does not want to try it with me.  I'll see if he still thinks we need to hold off on using this medication, though.  Thanks for your comment!  :-)

I can relate but not as bad. I get up and fall back down especially in the morning.

Most damage in MS is gray matter damage which does not show up on MRIs which only show white matter damage.

Have you tried Ampyra yet? It is for walking. You would be a good candidate with what you describe. In laymen's terms it helps the electrical signal to go across the nerves.
