I have been on venlafaxine XR for several years.  I find that it works quite well on my chronic depression.  No particular side effects that I can name.

It's been over 13years and  I have a great man in my life who spoils me and takes care or me.  But some things you never get over.  Some times he will just reach for something and i will duck like to avoid a punch or a slap.
We have to take it in stride and laugh about it cause jeez you would think after all this time i would be over it.

And i am a strong person...physically and mentally but some crap i just can't get rid of.

I am really sorry to hear this.
I hope that you came out stronger at the end of it. I would be surprised if anyone surviving that wouldn't have anxiety-related issues!

Good luck with the med, I hope it works out well for you.

Thanks ...it's weird i know it's extended release...but i can almost feel it kick in.  I am dx with ms however i am sure i have other issues with anxiety and stress ...i spent 15years with a very abusive man in a drug manipulated relationship if that makes any sense to anyone....lol

Hi Mustang,

I was on a course of this 7 years ago for depression and anxiety-related issues (I have had OCD since I can remember and it gets more intense if I become depressed).

It was very effective after some time but I remember that the side-effect for me of nausea and vertigo a short while after taking the tablet was horrific as it lasted up to an hour at a time. However, the positive was that it kept improving and it went all together after 3 weeks or so. If I had to go on an anti-depressant again I would chose it over some others with much worse side-effects for me, especially as it made me feel so much better in the long-run!

I hope this helps.

Best wishes,

Cynthia
