What's in a name?

Your screen/usernames often leave me wondering - just like those vanity car license plates that spell out cryptic messages. So I would like to know more about your screen name - is there a story behind it that you would like to share?

My name - Lulu - isn't what I started out with.  A couple months into this when I realized I would be sticking around here, I thought everyone else has a *fun* name, why shouldn't I do the same?

We have a dear friend who has a habit of calling all of us women friends *Lulu* when we gather to play cards.   Alzheimers runs in his family and he often says knowing all of us by one name now will be helpful later on.    He uses it as a term of endearment part of the time and as a curse other times.  :-)

I also think of this MiSerable disease as one lulu of a hand to be dealt.

Just plain *Lulu* was already taken so I put my birthyear behind the name - hence Lulu54.

So in a nutshell, that's the story behind my username.

What's your story?

Karen, every time I see your name I think of traveling because we all use carryon luggage these days.  :-)

Kerry - I have a feeling I wouldn't last long in a dark alley with you.

I chose karryon55 for number of reasons really. When I was a child my parents would call me Karry Ann which sort of became my second name. I also love the old british Carry On movies which is where I was born & spent my first part of my life. Unfortunately the spelling with a "c" was taken up too many times.

Other reasons are that I like to remind myself to "carry on & never give up" Finally the number 5 is my favourite number so I doubled my luck with the 55. I got the number 5 as my lucky number as a young child when my primary school teacher asked the class "How many lines are in a limerick?" & for the first time in my life I raised my hand to answer "5 sir."

My teacher nearly collapsed on the floor from shock because I was such a quiet kid. My name is actually Karen.

Pretty average stuff for me really.

Karen.

I also had another screen name, but I forgot my password.  I had to make another account, and I wanted those of you who were already getting to know me, recognize me.  So, it's the same "maxthecat" with 43 added to it. I am 43 now-although I did use this moniker a few months before my 43rd birthday.

Bye again!
