Wondering what to do now

I had a single incident ('08) & the Dr.s weren't sure of a TIA(miny Stroke) or something to do with MS.
I have had some MRI's with & without contrast. It was found that there ARE multiple white areas that could not be ruled out as MS.
The first & current Neuro said that he highly suspects MS...I had some dizzyness & other sysmptoms. This went on for about 6 months.did the Baer.VEP. Both showed negative results. So he scheduled a spinal tap...That sucker had to stick me 8 times...**Note to self never go hunting or throw darts with him.
So, when I  go to for the results of my spinal tap back he did a complete 180 turn about. Saying no now.
**He did say I had elevated protiens in there.
I do have a Vit. B12 deficiency,Vit D also.
Have had off & on tingling on head & facial region. alot of pain in different areas of body...
Mostly arms & hand(could be due to the 4 herniated discs in neck for that).
I have been put on Gabapentin 2400mg a day for the tingling, & pain meds, meds for severe constipation also.
My GP(General Practioner) does suspect that I do have MS.
But now that I lost my job that supplied insurance I can't go to another Neuro Doc.
My GP said that he would give me a referral to et sent to Vanderbuilt.... But can't do that now.
So I am up in the air in what direction to go...
I am able to work. But I go into episodes of pain, severe tiredness, & such. So as soon I start working. My employeer gets rid of me for that....
I am screwed on getting any real help. So here I am.

Also my brother was diagnosed with MS about 4-5 years ago.

So sorry to hear that you're having all this happen to you. I do hope that you don't have MS. This website is very helpful in the event that you do or even if you are in between diagnosis. Sorry I couldn't give you any more advice than that.

I hope you start feeling better soon.
Take care
Kristi

Immediately apply for medicaid -- call your local hospital that you've been at and ask for their medicaid department, make an appointment.

It can take up to 6 weeks to get it.  You can work and still get medicaid, depending on your income.

You'll have to bring, your drivers license, social security, passport or birth certificate, utility bill, two statements from neighbors writing date and the length of time you've lived at your residence (whether apartment or house), your landlord or whoever you give money to statement of how much rent you have to pay each month.  Get all that together as soon as possible then call.  Once you get in, (mine took 4 weeks) you will have health insurance and that, to me, is imperative to your health and the ongoing care you need.

Good luck to you

Lisa

PS -- Oh welcome to the forums!!!!!!!!!!!
