could i have MS

i have been seeing a nuerologist since march and have had 4 MRI's and they are all clear i started going there to see him for leg issues and nueroparthy .  then in the past month my back is killing  me my sides my trunk....
I know i have lumbar spinal stenosis but never never really knew till my problems arose i do think that problem is bothering me for the reasons i do not walk normally .
well he finally gave me something the other day call Gapentin. can anyone tell me why he would prescribe that just for my stenosis problem' it does relieve my back for about 8 hours but does nothing to relieve my leg issues or walking i am sorry i a complaining but i have been so discouraged with the nuerologist i am going to make some appts to see another one as soon as i can
Thanks for your help ahead of time if anyone can help

Hi Trish, Whining is always allowed around here so no need to apologize.  When you are whining for a reason, that is even better.

You mention that you are looking for another neurologist- a second opinion and fresh eyes to look at your MRI's never hurts.  you know something is wrong, so don't give up looking for answers.

The unfortunate part of neurologic disorders is most take a long time to diagnosis, especially MS.  MS is a dx of exclusion, meaning every other possible disease has to be eliminated from the mix.

come back when you have questions or need more whine.
best, Lulu

i am realy not sure I was sent to the hospital to have them done. i am not sure who read them and gave the report to my nuerologist ,his partner at one time saw me because i could barely walk and sent me to  nuerosurgeon for my lumbar issues and i picked the mrs's up on disc at tha ttime and he told me the problems i was  having with my legs had nothing to do with my stenosis snd it would not need surgery. so i  am at a loss i guess i could cal lthe hospital and find out what kind of mri machin huh? the pain subsodes with the gapentin, but not my legs they are either weak and can barely move them or they feel like they are 80 pounds adn hard to lift then while sitting i get vibrations of some sort and feel like they are swelling to outrageous sizes lol i am sorry for whining but i know my body and something is not right and not to do with my stenosis  thank you for listening

Do you know if the MRI's of the spine was done on a 3tMRI?  I ask because....and this is ONLY my experience....because mine did not show on a 1.5.  The lone lesion on my brain did but not on my spine.  Are who read the MRI was it a neuroradiology?
