eye pain

Hi all... Was recently DX with optic neuritis and am starting to have that "deep, aching" in and around the eye again sometimes bad enough it is difficult to go to sleep...

Was wondering if any have had this and if so what, if any, meds helped with this pain??

Thanks ESS... My first attack was in Feb this year... I'm feeling like I did bf... Eye/surrounding eye pain and vertigo with EXTREME exhaustion.... Not sure if they will treat me or not....

When I was diagnosed with ON, I was given a three day infusion of methylprednisolone. It still took a while for visions to return to my left eye, but the ache did seem to dissipate quickly. There's some argument about whether IVSM actually shortens an ON relapse or not, but in the neurology department where I'm treated, getting infusions for an acute episode is standard proceedure.
