Other Causes of ON? QUIX OR ANYONE

I AM TRYING TO PREPARE MYSELF FOR MY APPOINTMENT AT THE MS CLINIC THIS NEXT WEEK. I KNOW I MAY NOT GET AN ANSWER, BUT I AM PRAYING I DO.

I HAVE BEEN THROUGH ALL OF THE BLOOD TESTS GENERALLY DONE WHEN TRYING TO FIGURE OUT IF MS IS THE CAUSE. EVERYTHING CAME BACK FINE.

I AM WONDERING HOW LIKELY IT IS THAT THERE MAY BE ANOTHER CAUSE OF O.N. OTHER THAN MS NOW THAT I HAVE HAD TWO ATTACKS IN LESS THAN 9 MONTHS. MS SEEMS LIKELY TO ME, BUT I AM NOT A DOCTOR.

CAN O.N. HAPPEN FOR NO REASON? FROM WHAT I UNDERSTAND O.N. IS A SYMPTOM OF SOMETHING ELSE GOING ON IN THE BODY. BUT CAN O.N. HAPPEN WITH NO UNDERLYING CAUSE?

If you can't find a Neuro-ophth at least see a retinal spec. they are used to seeing ON on a regular basis.  They can refer you to the appropriate physician based on what type of MS they think that you are most likely to have as well.

ON can occur as a condition by itself.  It does depend of course on the symptoms that you are having.  Just make sure that you have a good neuro-ophth looking at your eyes, they can guide you in the right direction to if it looks like MS.

I ASKED THIS QUESTION ON ANOTHER HEALTH BOARD THAT HAS AN EYE DOCTOR. I WILL POST WHAT I FIND OUT THERE.

THIS SUMMER I HAD ON AND ON DEMYENATION LESION ON MY MRI. THIS TIME I HAD ON BUT NOTHING ELSE SHOWED UP.

I HAVE HAD A C-SPINE MRI THAT LOOKED OK.  I HAVE NOT HAVE MY LOWER SPINE EXAMINED THOUGH. AND MY MRI WAS ON A T1.5.  SO, WHO KNOWS.  I AM REALLY TIRED OF BEING TIRED! :(

MAYBE I WILL FEEL BETTER WHEN THIS SNOW MELTS AWAY AND IT WARMS UP....I HOPE ANYWAY.

Hey--I am sure that someone on here will know the answer, but it is another excellent question to ask the MS Specialist.

I did pull out my handy little merck manual and it does list "idiopathic" as a cause. (meaning an unknown cause)  I am sure that it means something that you have had 2 attacks in less than 9 months.  Someone else(Quix or Heather) will have a lot more knowledge about this for you.

About your other post, I would love to know what all those neurolgical tests mean also!  I think they tell different things about the cranial nerves and nerve pathways, but don't know what each one means.
