maybe ms?

I was diagnosed with fibromyalgia 18 years ago and in past three years the have found that I have highgrade osteoarthritis in both knees and degenerative disk desease and I'm only 47. I've been to two rhruematologist in past 8 months and a orthopedic doctor six months ago and nueroligist last month. I've had weakness in arms and legs coming in four about four years and my right arm is the worst. I just pick up gallon of milk for seconds and put it down and my arm starts shaking uncontrolably for pretty much rest of day. When I curl hair in morn my arm shakes in the same manner. The rheumatologists poopood it like I was nuts and nurologist ordered emg test that came back negativeso he said its PProbably because the pain in my neck causing me to favor it. About eight months ago I noticed knots under my skin on inside of forarm close toinside of elbow. The one on right arm is about the size of an egg now. Its tender and appears to be very swollen. In the past month I've been getting prickly itching all over arms, stomach,  neck, back and legs and its mostly in the evening andthere is no rash. My eyes are eextremely dry and was backed up by optomatris. I have to wear sunglasses outside even on cloudy days and that has been for about past ten years. I have chronic bladder infections and that's been going on for about five years. Sever constipation and Ibs. Just seems like in past five years iv been feeling worse and with more symptoms but the doctors aren't giving me any straight thoughts ad to why I'm getting worse. Oh and three years ago I had to start using a cane that wad referred by my family doc. Its for stability and weakness in legs. Does any of this sound like posably ms, and if it does what kind of specialist should I be seeing?

Almost sounds like mixed auto-immune disorders...the dry eye and knobs under the skin...have you had the full battery of specific tests for Sjogrens Disease?  A Rheumatologist usually would be the one to diagnose it or similar disorders.

Hi there,

I'm also with the others in saying what you describe in my lay persons opinion is not sounding like MS. I am not any doctor though & if you are concerned that you have something like MS then you should see a Neurologist that specialises in MS.

I hope this helps you a little.

Karry.

Hi eek - I'm sorry your health seems to have abandoned you.

I'd have to agree that very little of what you describe sounds like MS. MS doesn't cause things like knots under your skin. MS can cause itching, but in individual locations, not all over.

I hope you find some answers.

Sounds more like degenerative disk in your neck to me. It can cause all kinds of issues. Again I am no Doctor. You might have several things going on which makes it harder to figure out.

What you describe does not sound like ms, which is a disease of the central nervous system. Have you seen a doctor specifically about the growing masses? We aren't professionals on this site, but that sounds of concern. I would want a professional's explanation for that.
