ot-the miners!!!

hello all, just wanted to see what everyone thought of the miraculous rescue of all 33 of the chilean miners...

i found it all so inspirational.  while i in no way can i truly liken it to what so many of us experience here, i did think of this forum and all of the bravery that can be found here.

when symptoms are bad, it truly can feel like we are cut off from the rest of the world for months at a time.

amazing and i so enjoyed watching that wonderful story unfold!!

have a great day...

Truly inspirational and a great story of survival, I was glued to the story and also watched almost everyone emerge.

My admiration goes especially to the first rescuer who showed unimaginable bravery when he descended not knowing for sure if it would work and then waiting until all were out before returning.

I found the whole thing totally humbling.

I'm so glad you brought this miraculous story up.  I have been following this disaster ever since it started and wondered how in the world these guys would survive for 2+ months underground. But they did survive, each and every one of them and now they have the whole world captivated by their stories.

I think they are talking about a movie and books and I'll be the first one in line to get see or read about their stories.  Amazing rescue and even more brilliant rescuers.

I'm so inspired and hope we all can stay that way for awhile - a long while.

I guess the guy that said God won would have died thinking the devil won had things gone south....lol....So the devil wins when people are killed in earthquakes or other major disasters?  I am happy for the miner that he had his faith to fall back on but seriously, I hope he considers his words.  The poor devil gets blamed for a lot of stuff and never walked this earth.

It was very inspirational.

How about the one miner who had his mistress greet him rather than his wife?  He didn't seem too pleased!  His wife said she had too much dignity to be there, although she was glad he made it out ok.

I have to confess that thanks to the internet and cable TV I watched almost all of them emerge - it captivated by imagination, much like watching Neil Armstrong's first step and the return of the Apollo XIII crew. In my high school days I did spelunking and know the darkness and smells of being underground. Being there for 70 days is beyond my imagination.

this is such an inspirational tale of intelligence, perseverance and the human spirt.  This is a prime example of why each and every one of us should never give up and surrender.

best, Lulu

Yes, this was a beautiful miracle.  A huge inspiration to all.  I was immensely touched my the minor that came up with rocks in his pockets to pass out to all the rescue team.  Those rocks are such a huge blessing to all...

Thanks for bringing this up.  An amazing recovery.

Amen!  Thanks for reminding us!

Loved the guy who said (I'm paraphrasing, from my memory of news reports), "I met God down there, and I met the devil down there.  God won!"
