Sorry to hear you are experiencing so much pain. I experience pain from degenerative disk disease, neurofibromatosis and MS. The former is a "pain in the ***," both literally and figuratively (sharp burning/stabbing sensation in the upper right buttock and radiating down the right leg to the big toe. The MS related pain is as follows: sore/aching/burning/stiff across the entire lower back, severe testicular pain (more like a sensation of an electrical shock), right shoulder and neck, both knees and legs and ankles, sharp pain through three fingers of my left hand, and a sharp stabbing pain in my left eye, along with pins + needles in both hands and legs below the knees, and both feet. I take large doses of Oxycodone, Neurontin and Cymbalta for the pain and they all help enough to make them worthwhile; but there are drawbacks to taking so many medications. I will begin Copaxone in a few days and I hope it will alleviate some of the symptoms/pain. When trying to walk, I seem to spend more time lying on the ground than I do on my feet. I guess the answer for me is how can make some extra money while spending so much time on the floor!!!
i have ms pain, and some spinal issues pain. i probably have some mental pain too but who's counting at this point.
hi dawn i am sorry that you are not diagnosed yet. yes i am curious how many have pian? yes the fatigue is the terrible part. i have a hard time getting anything done. i feel bad for my husband as i used to be able to work cook clean care for kids.as for the fatigue yes i feel the crash it affects my ability to walk, talk, hold myself upright. please read my dissapointed post.
Are you really going to do that Karen??? I have the pain you describe too Mary... Not dx either other than bulging disc in my neck!!!
I'm starting to get overall fatigue along with it... My body feels like it wants to crash when I get tired... It's kinda scary.. Do any of you get that,,,
Mary, I hope your MRI gets you some answers!!!
This mornings news reported that some doctors are suggesting bee stings for chronic pain. At one time, bee stings were an anecdotal treatment for MS.
Maybe I'll take on a couple of bees this weekend. Put 'em up.
I'm not allergic to bee stings, but if I give this a try I'll take some Benadryl first.
Wish me luck.
I DID HAVE XRAYS AND MRI OF MY BACK, MY DR. ONCE THOUGHT THAT I MAY HAVE HAD A HERNIATED DISC BUT AFTER DOING SEVERAL MRIS THEY DID NOT SHOW ANY PATHOLOGY, I HAVE A NEW NEURO WHO IS GOING TO LOOK AT MY OLD NECK MRI FOR LESIONS FROM 2006. IF HE DOES NOT FIND ANYTHING WRONG HE IS GOING TO ORDER A NEW NEW NECK MRI.I HAVE A FEELING OF PRESSURE AND NUMBNESSIN THE THORACIC AREA SO THIS AREA NEEDS TO BE MRI,D. I AM SUSPECTING THJAT BASED ON MY SYMPTOMS THAT THEY WILL FIND LESIONS IN THE NECK AREA AND THE THORACIC SPINE AREA.I AM HAVING MY BRAIN MRI THIS EVENING SO THAT THEY CAN COMPARE TO MY OLD MRI.
Sorry, but I forget. Have you had MRIs (or X-Rays) of your cervical and thoracic spine performed?
I have a lot of pain and stiffness in my neck and upper back. Pain that runs down my arms. Weakness, tingling, and numbness as well.
I have two compressed disks in my neck, two more compressed disks in my upper back, osteoarthritis all along my spine in the facet joints, and stenosis of some of the foramen that's compressing the nerve roots as they branch out from the spine.
The stenosis may be causing radiculopathy which can cause pain to radiate down arms or legs, numbness and tingling.
So, its possible that you may have this going on, as well as your other medical problems.

I have MS pain and pain from my body compensating. For this reason stretches and core work is essential. It is important to talk to a DR. or PT who is trained in MS before starting a regime. Doing the wrong exercise can be just as bad. Posture and diet is also important.
Alex
thanks ladies for your comments.
Hi Mary
I don't know if you just wanted input from the DX'd but I have horrible pain in my upper back which at times, feels like pressure/numbness. I have never met anyone who describes their pain like that so I had to let you know that I can relate.
I can't however, tell you why we have it - I wish I knew. I'm not DX'd- sorry I'm no help - I hope you find out soon if it's related to MS and I wish you some relief. I know sometimes it hard to even want to live when your in such pain- at least that's how I feel.
I'm sorry and hope you feel better
Stella
