Is a vibrating sensation limited to MS symptoms?

My daughter has a bulged disc in her neck (c4 c5) from a fall. She had about 2 months of PT and got better. A couple of weeks after PT ended, she started having the vibrating sensation in her lower spine, as well as numbness/tingling in her fingertips of her right hand. Could all this be caused by a spinal lesion, perhaps in the area of the c4 c5 disc? We are concerned, but they won't do another MRI yet (the first was done 2 months ago, which indicated the bulged disc). Had blood work done to rule out other possibilities, still waiting lab results.  I myself was misdiagnosed with MS in 1990. I had no visible lesions, but had some symptoms that were consistent with MS. I was finally diagnosed with Sjögren's Syndrome with neurological tendencies, 2 years after my initial MS diagnosis.

Hi and welcome,

Vibrating sensations that only occur when she bends her neck forward, chin to chest sound like the Lhermitte sign, which is a sudden transient electric-like shocks extending down the spine triggered by flexing the head forward. It isn't exclusive to MS, other spinal issues eg over curvature of the neck (texting, gaming etc),  structural disc issues, compression etc are also associated with this too, I'd think it's too close a coincidence after her fall, for it not to be the most likely explanation.

Hope that helps.....JJ

Thank you. I feel it's too coincidental and believe it has to do with her fall. I'm hoping that if she continues her PT exercises she will improve.

BTW, the vibrating sensations only occur when she bends her neck forward, chin to chest.
