Hi and welcome back! It sounds as if you're doing great, How wonderful about your weight loss and its effect on diabetes. I'm so sorry to read about your friend, and know that makes you all the more determined to beat illness in your own life.
Come back more often, Penn, You're a wonderful example of how to be a strong woman.

Hi dearheart. Great news about your diabetes. You go girl. I too, went from being insulin dependent, to absolutely nothing, but diet to control my sugars. It took me ten years to lose all the weight I needed to lose to bring my glucose levels under control. It was a great day when I threw away that bottle of insulin. Now I am forced to give myself shots everyday, because of Copaxone. I guess the diabetes was a trial run for me and needles.
I am so sorry to hear about your dear friend. I know that she is in a better place, no longer in any pain...it's her children that I am the most sad for. She sounds like she was an incredible woman. Bone cancer is one painful cancer. God bless her.
Hope you will stop by the Forum more often and say hello. Oh by the way, Quix WAS knitting you a body suit with three boobie places in the front, so you are lucky you checked in.
Big Hugs,
Heather
Hi penn
i remember you from long ago then i did not come on the site for a while always kept in touch with doni i got a dx for fibro but since i got worse they are thinking MS again or something else so back in the testing process so back on here.
Sounds like you are really positive and getting on with life, My dad had diabetes had to go straight onto insulin unfortunatly he had just lost my mum his wife and went to drinking so ilost him to diabetes but that was his choice as he gave up on life as could not live without mum, so i know it sure is a battle and you should be proud of yourself my separated husbands dad has diabetes and he tackled it like you and went from insulin to tablet control and diet control so it can be done.
Sorry you lost a close friend that must of been so upsetting, but like you said they in a better place just like my mum and dad.
happy catching up
