Side effects of a spinal fusion sugery

Four weeks ago I had lumbar spinal fusion of the L4/S1 with hardware. I had two Discectomies  prior to this surgery in the last year and a half due to a collapsing disk that was impeding my left sciatic nerve to the point where there was nerve damage and my leg was weakening. Four weeks out this surgery seems to be a success and I am healing nicely.

But my question comes from a quirk that has appeared after this last surgery. I started getting these muscle jerks in my legs by now happens all over my body. They are painless albeit a little disconcerting (especially when they happen somewhere like my chest or arms). I can have a day where they seem to happen several times an hour or a day where I may only have one or two a day. They are very visible to the people around me when they happen.

Are these "ticks" or Jerks a common side effect of neurosurgery and will they go away?

Dear Friends,
Please don;t worry at all of these symptoms. This happens sometimes when the nerve rootlet hits on the implants. It will take a few weeks to get full relief as by that time the scar tissues will be formed around the operated area.
Feel free to discuss more.
