2yr old diagnosis

hi there I am looking for some answers and would be greatfull to  any one that an help me,i have a 2 year old boy who  at 6 month old was diagnosed with bilateral dyskinetic cerebal palsy and dandy walker malformation.now after 18 month or so they have told us that it is not dandy walker but now saying he has olivio pontocerebellar hypoplasia no body has explaijned much about this and internet research does not make sense as no were shows any cases relted to children. I would be thankfull if any body could shed some light on this also we live inn the ukand would be interested iin knowing if there are any treatments for this in America or any where thanks a lot

I am sorry to hear about your little one’s medical problems.  Olivopontocerebellar hypoplasia involves underdevelopment of the cerebellum, pons, and inferior olives of the brain. In lay man’s terms it results in or is caused by spongiform brain and metabolic diseases. The child usually has problems with balance, gait, speech, walking, difficulty in swallowing, muscle weakness, rigidity, hyper-reflexia etc. There are many complex things happening and each child differs in degree of neurological affliction and thus in symptoms.
