My arachnoid cyst was discovered accidentally on an MRI 5 years ago when they were doing an MRI regarding a longstanding pituitary cyst/adenoma (now gone). Oddly, I had had MRI done in the past because of the latter but the clinic (in Sweden) could not explain why my arachnoid cyst hadn't shown before since there was a certainty that it's congenital (!)

At the time, the size measured 3,7x3,2x3,5 and my neurosurgeon basically laughed it off after doing some very simple and quick reflex checks on my body and asking me whether I'd balance issues. She sent me home saying there is Absolutely nothing to worry about and asked me to come back in 5 years. Fast forward to January of this year, the same neurosurgeon was now panicking when I told her I'm having memory issues, extreme fatigue, change in behaviour (increasingly introvert) and she saw that the cyst had been growing 5 mm across all dimensions.

This time, she was very grim and recommended immediate surgery (!!) After some lengthy conversation where I expressed a reservation to open brain surgery as suggested by her, she proposed that we could wait for a year. She also finally informed me that the cyst is on the left side parietofrontal lobe - an area affecting my behaviour, movement and coordination (not a word about it 5 years ago). Needless to say, I requested that she no longer be my doctor. I have yet to speak to another specialist.

I am now (in June) and as of a few weeks back, increasingly noticing tingling and numbness on my right hand and foot and vertigo in addition to extreme fatigue. I have started acupuncture and herbal remedy and wondering if anyone has tried that or Ayurvedic methods.

There seems to be too many cases and noted risks with brain surgery so I'm hoping there are good experiences out there. Many thanks for sharing.
