Another medical mystery.

i'm a 28yrs old 4th year medical student, otherwise healthy male. non smoker, drinker. no history of any disease. 8 months ago i started having paresthesia on my forehead with occasional 1 second sharp shooting pain on the right temple. A few weeks later i started having stiff neck. I had a brain mri, it was unremarkable. i just ignored it. a few months later i went again to see another neuro and she said its icepick headache but could not explain the paresthesia. finally a 3rd neurologist ordered neck mri and it showed c5/c6 and c6/7 to be pressing on the nerves and encroaching the spinal cord at 5/6. its borderline spinal stenosis (thecal sac diameter 9-10mm). Currently i have paresthesia all over my face, occasional shooting pain on my left temple and right scalp and sometimes on my teeth. i have mild tinnits and paresthesia all over my body, i also have neck soreness and mild dull pain at the base of skull. Never had any of this before. just came out of no where. my 2nd brain mri 8 moths later with contrast is also unremarkable neuro doesn't think its MS. blood work was also normal.  Could this stem from my neck? could a c5/6 borderline spinal stenosis cause all this? i'm thinking of doing a spinal tap next to further rule in/out MS.

Thanks. She now has six children. As to chiropractors, some are ham-fisted and to be avoided. How do you know which are good and which are bad? Go with results. If someone you know has received substantial benefit from the treatments then go with that one. By the way, they don't crack your neck. If you live in Connecticut or nearby that state, send me a note.

Yeah I had an accident about 5 years prior.  I did not have any pain after the accident.  I'm scared to see a chiropractor.  I feel like cracking my neck might make it worse but I do know it actually has made some people better.

One of my daughters, from the age of eight to age 12, had divers neurological symptoms, pain and inflammation. She was a semi-invalid. Took her to a variety of pediatric specialists. Many tests. No diagnosis. Finally took her to a  highly recommended chiropractor. (My first experience outside traditional medicine.) After examining her she explained that an incident of some sort had thrown her spine out whack, causing the neurologic symptoms. After three weeks all her symptoms were gone and after a couple of months she was riding a bicycle.

Have you suffered whiplash? Have you fallen down or sprained your back?
