Any feeling their body being paralyzed or shutting down.

I was wondering if anyone on here feeling like their body shutting down or being paralyzed. Please share any information that you've gotten from any diagnose. I'm still having this tightness in the back of my neck. My head feels heavy. I get these tingling feeling when I'm laying down and once a night I'll have an hallucination. My neck gets really tight and I get blurry vision a lot. I sometimes get some bad that the only way I find to relief it is putting a cold pack behind my head. I also get a heating feeling shooting down my spine. I'm at a lost here and I feel like I'm going crazy. I can't even have a normal life, going to the stores are a challenge anymore. I'm only 38 and I've been dealing with this for 5 years. What could this be, I need help. I feel trapped in this hurting and confused body.

I'm going to the doctors' again this week. They wanted to do a myelogram but I refused because of the side effects; I felt it would worsen my condition. I'm going to get a completely cardio check and my neurologist is going to see me next week. I will keep you posted on what's going on with me. I hope someone on here contacts me and we can help eachother out.

Write to me at ***@**** and please mention the condition Numbness in the neck on the title so I'm not deleting it, thanks to all and God bless you.

James

Thank you for your response, I'm afraid to do the mylegram for I feel I would get worse with this test. I'm at a catch 22 here and im not getting much support from my neurologist.

Hi there. You need to get an MRI neck done to investigate any cervical spine issues like spondylosis, spondylolisthesis or disc degeneration or prolapse.  These could be responsible for the weakness in the limbs. Since there are tingling and numbness, headaches, blurred vision, a possibility of multiple sclerosis also needs to be entertained. Your neurologist would do a detailed neurological examination and the required investigations and you need to discuss with him if the myelography benefits outweigh the associated risk with regards to its diagnostic value. Hope this helps. Take care.
