I’m a 24 year old male who was born with bilateral cataracts, I’ve had the cataracts treated and seen a well renown genetics councilors group who told me they are very confident I have no underlying genetic disorder (with consult from neurology) so before anyone mentions that I’ve had an extensive work up. Anyway about 5 years ago I mentioned to my eye doc who I see every year one eyelid is slightly droopier than the other, he used some measurement tool to see that both my eyes actually show mild ptosis. So he sent me to neurology for the initial work up. They confirmed I do have ptosis but with a resounding meh. The one even mentioned he had ptosis in one eyelid and never questioned it and he was a neurologist. I should also mention my father, while deceased, had eyes and eyelids that look exactly like mine and I’m often told that, my paternal uncle and grandfather both had operations later in life to removed excess tissue from their upper eyelids as they were sagging too much. I guess I’m just curious if ptosis can be normal as dr google only shows it linked to muscle trauma or underlying muscle disorder etc.
