Arachniod Cyst- Should I see a doctor?

12 years ago, I was diagnosed with a small arachnoid cyst on my left side at age 16.  I had been having nocturnal seizures for some time.   I was taking Dilantin.  But stopped taking it after I got married.  Seizures have stopped, as far as I know.

Every so often, I experience pressure on one side of my head.  Sometimes, I am extremely fatigued.  Recently, I have notice pressure behind my left eye.  Could this be allergies (head congestion)?    I also have a strange sensation in my outer ear.  Like it's asleep, minus the numbness.

My questions are, should I see a doctor?  Should I have another MRI done?   Can arachnoid cysts change in size?

Hello, many Drs told gave me the "No, it's nothing to worry about." or the "You've had it since birth so it can't be causing this..." responses. However, a few short months ago when I was having some very severe symptoms one Dr ordered a nuclear test to determine if the ac was allowing csf to flow or not they found out that it was allowing csf into the cyst but severely restricting it's outbound flow. In other words the pressure in the cyst was growing as was the cyst itself. So from life experience, despite the Drs, yes it can change size as mind did and is.

Do your symptoms ever come and go?  Or are they always there?

Well it's not just the cyst here I also have Chiari. The cyst, in my case sits in such a way that as it pulsates and grows it affects chiari. Thus I can't tell one symptom from another.

That said, some symptoms never completely leave. Others come and go, esspecially with weather changes.
