9 year old girl is diagnosed 1.5 years ago with the brain stem glioma, originally pontine, but now spreading to midbrain as well. The only treatment she received is 4 sessions of chemo (no radiation). It appeared that the chemo stopped the tumor growth, but the latest MRI shows new extensions and infiltration into the surrounding regions. Due to the location and spreading of the tumor, it was deemed non-operable by the local medical staff and she was discharged from the hospital. Today she collapsed and was taken to an ICU...
Is there any (standard, clinical trial, experimental) treatment option available at this point?
