Brain cyst discovered

Hi, I'm a 19-yr-old F and I've been having a crazy array of symptoms for months that's caused me so much health anxiety (pain, burning, twitching, nausea, tingling, weakness, headaches, pressure on my forehead, trouble getting out words, trouble balancing, blurry vision, brain fog, sensitive sight, etc), and last night when I went to the ER they performed a CT and found a cyst near the back of my brain. I'm getting an MRI soon, but I'm really freaked out about it because they said it was big and likely has been there for a long time....and I know some can develop in the womb but I haven't noticed any of these symptoms until this year -- especially in the past weeks. I know a lot of them are harmless and can be drained but they didn't tell me much about it ...

So my general question is what information you can tell me about brain cysts given my details? I've read that if not developed at birth, they're a cause of meningitis, head injury, or tumors, and along with falling on my head as a toddler I smacked my head during tubing this summer, but no concussion or anything... The MRI will surely tell me more but is there any information you'd have that could ease my mind or at least inform me a little better? I'm not sure what to think of this, and I'm just trying to stay positive and not focus on the forehead pressure or forgetting what's going on every few minutes (symptoms bothering me most right now). And with what symptoms should I seek immediate help, if any? The ER told me to get it checked out but that I didn't need to stay overnight. Thanks so much!
(Also, if I should have posted this in neurology please let me know and I'll repost there:)

Thanks so much for responding! I did get my MRI done today and it's actually less clear now than it was before....although the ER docs told me it was a cyst, the doctor's office got the results and told me they're not sure if it's a cyst, and although they didn't find any other tumors/growths, they said "not to get my hopes up" about the fact that almost every one of my symptoms matched brain cyst symptoms that I looked up. My doctor's office said that if I am experiencing fairly new symptoms, it wouldn't be from an old cyst -- not sure if that's true or not? My symptoms just matched up so perfectly that it's hard to let that go -- or maybe it is a new cyst.

To add, it turns out I may have had a concussion from my head injury as a child but besides that I'm out of answers today, I'm seeing a neurologist soon but I'm pretty down about this because it seems much less clear than before. All they can tell me right now is that I have an abnormal amount of fluid in my brain.

Not sure what my question is right now, but feel free to comment back if you have any other info to add, I'd appreciate it! Otherwise thank you for the info!!!

MEDICAL PROFESSIONAL
Hi!
I am sorry to hear about your medical problems. The cyst can be due to cysticercosis (due to tape worm), or a hydatid cyst (tapeworm larvae of the genus Echinococcus) or an arachnoid cyst (generally congenital, however can develop in adolescence). It is difficult to comment without the MRI. The parasitic cysts can be medically treated usually. Arachnoid cyst may need surgical intervention. Please discuss this with your neurosurgeon when you meet.Take care!
