This has happened to me a number of times over the years, the most recent being a couple of hours ago which has got me here. It's always the same I am indoors, its it is not raining, there is no sign of leak in the ceiling and for no apparent reason I feel a small drop of water on my skin.
Today it was three or four times on my hands arm but I have felt all over the body over the years. I feel it the most when I expect it or think of it .I have also felt it when my legs are under the table. It doesn't depend on the wetness but on how wetness sensors are working. Lyme disease is a good possibility. I have the bumps and the phantom water droplets.
Thank you for your thorough answer. This was very helpful to me. It made sense because I have problems with my neck. It calmed my fears. Thanks again.
I understood everything and thank her for her help.

I had knee surgery and concerned something happened with the nerve block.. The problem is I also have Lyme disease but I was doing well with Lyme and this happens post surgery. Is it possible a nerve block can cause problems and what tests should be done.. I have nuerologist appt nxt week thank u so much..Tracey
Hi!
I am sorry to hear about your medical problems. The abnormal sensations of water dripping are due to paresthesia seen in peripheral neuropathies or vascular pathologies. Hence peripheral vascular pathologies like deep vein thrombosis have to be ruled out either by angiograms or by dopplar studies. There are several causes for peripheral neuropathies including diabetes, hypothyroidism, chronic involvement of liver or kidney, chronic alcohol use etc. Hypoparathyroidism too should be looked into apart from hypothyroidism.
Neck strain, spondylotic changes in cervical vertebrae, bone disease or bad posture should be looked into. Nerve infections as in lyme’s disease too should be investigated. Nerve conduction studies should be done along with blood tests for above mentioned disorders. Vitamin B12 deficiency too should be looked into. Multiple sclerosis is another possibility but less likely in your case. Please consult your PCP for primary examination followed by proper referral.Take care!
