Collioids Cysts

My husband had suregery to remove a collioids cyst 3 1/2 years ago.  Resently has experienced loss of right eye perifhial vision..... could there be a relationship.... or could problem be reoccuring?

Hello.

It's me again. By now, you must be bored with my responses. But I will not stop !

I don't have much experience with colloid cysts, but there are some inputs I can give.

Can you mention if the colloid cyst was located near the optic chiasma ? It will be written in the initial MRI. A recurrence is possible, depending upon the extent of resection.

If the cyst was in the vicinity of the optic chiasma, it compresses upon the optic nerve fibers which carry information from the peripheral vision.

Get a second MRI. Things will be clearer.
