Constant Headaches and Dizziness

hi im 20 years old and am in very good shape.  However starting about 1 week ago while I was doing bench press at the gym I did a really hard set and afterwards couldnt stand up for about 15 minutes without feeling like I was going to pass out.  My heart was well over 150 bpm which at rest is normally about 57bpm.  Well its been one week now and I have a constant dull neck pain and have had a slight headache in the back of my head since its happend about 8 days ago.  Also I cannot exercise let alone walk up a flight of stairs without feeling like im going to pass out and my heart is racing.  Im not on any medications however i am taking lifting supplements which include Creatine, L-Arginine, Caffiene, and Yohimbe. I stopped taking the supplement the day of the incident but the symptoms are still there.  Never have I had any issue like this in my life.  THanks

As I already told you that without being able to examine you, I can not offer you the specific advice & treatment you need, But from your description of symptoms it appears that most likely possibility is a Cervical Spondylosis or nerve irritation in the cervical (neck) spine. Please consult a doctor right away to get this evaluated and if you have any additional symptoms.

Thanks for your help.  I don't have an appointment with a doctor until Monday.  One of my professors offered the suggestion of Caffeine withdrawl as well as SCM muscle irritation.  Could any of these fit the symptoms that I offered previously such as Back of the head headaches and light headedness?

There can be several reasons of your tachycardia, dizziness and neck/head pain symptoms although without being able to examine you I can not offer you the specific advice on diagnosis and treatment that you need, but I would try to provide you some relevant information about your health concern.

Most likely your symptoms may be due to Cervical Spondylosis or due to irritation in the cervical (neck) spine because of injury/prolapse where contact between the edges of the vertebrae can cause neck pain. In few people, this pain may be referred and perceived as occurring in the back of head, shoulders, arms or chest, rather than just the neck. Other symptoms may include vertigo, nausea (dizziness) that you felt. Other symptoms are like neck pain and stiffness can be intermittent. It will be best that you consult a neurologist who would like to prescribe Pain killers, steroid and muscle relaxants. Other treatments could be cervical orthosis such as a soft cervical collar/stiffer neck brace to restrict neck movement. In addition, cervical traction may also be suggested by the doctor, if condition is severe. Hope this helps.
