Cure for neuropathy due to injury

Almost two years ago I suffered a nerve injury in my leg above the knee. (I listened to a fitness instructor who didn't know what he was doing and made us do these stretches that were painful in a bad way.) I went numb after that, and then had a little neuropathy and "electric pinches" all over my body. It's been a long road of pain, mystery and trying the wrong things. At this point, I have regained some feeling where I was prior numb, but neuropathy rears its head by making my foot on that leg feel heat, or feel a cold water drop drip down my leg. My questions involve possible cures. Surely I won't have to live with this the rest of my life? I'm not sure where to start.

Ugh, I'm sorry to hear this.  Welcome to the forum.  Does your neurologist offer ANY suggestions?  I assume you've done physical therapy?
