Elbow, forearm, wrist & hand pain/weakness

I have been having pain and weakness in my right arm originating at the elbow area and radiating down my forearm to my hand.  I also occasionally can see and feel twitching on my elbow area.  It is really interfering with everyday activities and I'm hoping someone can offer some suggestions.  I did have an EMG done recently which only showed early carpal tunnel.  The neurologist said that the symptoms I'm experiencing are not carpal tunnel.  With a normal EMG result, what could be causing this pain, discomfort, and weakness?  A cervical MRI I had done a couple months ago showed two protruding disks, but if they were the cause of my symptoms wouldn't the EMG have picked up on that?

Thank you for your reply!  Right now, due to many other  symptoms throughout my body that I have been experiencing, we are looking into Lyme Disease as well.

Hi there!

Well, without a clinical evaluation it would be difficult to determine the cause of your symptoms. Possibilities that may need to be considered include infections, inflammations, fractures, dislocations, degeneration, injuries to ligaments/ tendons, neuro-muscular causes such as nerve impingement, muscle spasm, micronutrient deficiencies, referred pain from other regions etc. I would suggest getting this evaluated by a primary care physician initially and depending on the cause diagnosed/ suspected, it can be managed accordingly or specialist care may be sought.
Hope this is helpful.

Take care!
