Hey everyone, Im a 30 year old male. For over 15 years people have told me I look like I have down syndrome, but I dont. My right eye is lower (droopy?), but my left eye is the one that is harder to wink with. My face too, looks a bit droopy on one side. Ive always thought it was related to me having anxiety and eating junk food and too much sodium (looks like water retention in my face).
Its not permanent so far, it only seems to happen when I have my anxiety bouts, junk food, or theres lots of sun beaming at me. It doesn't look so bad if I look at myself in the mirror, but if I take a picture it looks horrible. I do think my brother and dad have similar traits in their faces...
Could it be related to trauma? When I was younger I fell off the bed and landed on my forehead once. When I played football for 2 years, I got hit really bad and went flying backwards, and another time I hit my head on a teammates helmet because I was dumb and thought it was "cool".
I don't have cognitive problems, or any issues in the gym. I just have bad anxiety like panic, also essential tremor where I tremble, and lately I've had meralgia parasthetica every morning where my right thigh is numb until I shake it off. Family wise, my mom and grandmother have Restless Leg Syndrome....but that's it.
Does anyone know what this is all about? I thought maybe Bells Palsy, but that seems to be a one time thing. Im curious about long term?
