Fractured fibula and severed sural nerve

Hey,

I'm just wondering if anyone can help me.. I had surgery 2 weeks ago for a fractured fibula and ankle, I've had a plate and screws inserted and have been told that I can go into a boot in 4-5 weeks.

I'm more concerned though about my nerve pain as I snapped the sural nerve in which the surgeon operated on. I am having terrible electric shock and burning pains in my ankle and 3 toes which he said is normal and it's 50/50 if they go away or last forever.

Has anyone else had this or heard of success in this type of procedure. I would rate this pain up there with having kids! And I've had both c section and a natural birth. It's just getting me down :(
